Have you’ve seen this message?

Entrecard application server failed

The server that does the hard work hasn’t responded in time. This means we’re either working on it, or it is overloaded with requests. In either case, we sincerely apologize. Please try again in 10 minutes.

Of course you have! Entrecard is all about helping bloggers generate web traffic, but they could have planned on scalability much better. It has improved, but it still needs more work.

The bad side of Entrecard:

There are many things that I have noticed, and in no particular order they’re:

1. High bounce rates due to the “Drop and Run” concept
2. Poor click through rate from your advertised widget
3. Slow page loads
4. Time consuming to get credits
5. People not always reciprocating

Advertising your widget:

The facts are conclusive! No matter how many campaigns you have with Entrecard, you will not see an increase in web traffic. I average 400+ uniques per day. See the image below that proves my point.

Entrecard Traffic

The only good thing about Entrecard is their forums. You can request and post stumbles, announce contests, and sell credits, that’s it!

There are many good people leaving Entrecard. Check out the latest blog by Mike at bloggin-ads.

I will still stay in touch with all the great people I met at Entrecard, and participate in the forums.
