Are you the Master of your Domain?

I am not talking about the Seinfeld episode or your wife who wears the pants in the family. I am talking about ownership, branding and self hosted blogs. If you’re serious about blogging than you need to build your own identity and web space. What if your blog becomes part of an elite class of blogs in the blogsphere? It could happen, don’t under estimate your potential.

What you need to do:

Purchase a unique domain from godaddy. They offer great pricing for all your domain needs. Make sure your domain has your keyword in the name. If your niche is technology you should choose a name with the word tech in it. You will also need a host provider. There are many host providers that offer great host packages.

If cost is an issue, than stop worrying! How would you like to own a domain name and get free hosting? So would I and everyone else. If you’re dedicated and truly have a passion to blog, than I have a generous offer. I am offering a free domain name that I will transfer to your godaddy account.

Why would I do this?

To build a network with other bloggers that will share links, and so much more! Did I mention a free host account with APlus.net? Yes! A top notch hosting solution company ranked highly with cnet.com. You can check it out for yourself.

Domains you can choose:

blogtbt.net

blogtbt.info

Pick a new one and I will purchase it and transfer the domain to your godaddy account. You must have an account set up with godaddy.com.

In addition to joining this network, you will get all the benefits of social network submissions, profit sharing, ad campaigns and so much more.

Email me at boscony@yahoo.com to get more information about this great opportunity.

Domain Name Squatting

Sunday, February 17th, 2008 | Tech Corner with 7 Comments

It has been and will remain to be a huge issue in trying to obtain a quality domain name. There are many great domain names that are only parked with no web page. Have you ever been to Ebay and viewed some of the domain names being sold? I saw one listed for 20 million, yes 20 million dollars. A domain name is only worth what the buyer is willing to pay.

The first domain name I purchased was in 1995 and today it still a strong content driven site based on fishing in New York.

What’s the most important things in a domain name?

There are 3 significant things you should consider before purchasing a domain name.

1. Easy to remember. This is a must and the most important.

2. Short, less than 15 characters. Don’t buy a name that is too long. A bad example is www.thewarcraftplayersexchange.com. Try this instead www.thewarcraftpe.com. Short and easy to remember.

3. Relevant. Always try to make sure that your domain name has the main keyword that relates to your web sites identity.

I purchase my domains with GoDaddy.com and have been since their inception. The pricing is the best, and support as never been an issue. Godaddy has a lot of cool features for webmasters and site owners.

One of the best features about Godaddy.com when searching for a domain name that’s not available, is that Godaddy will provide a list of names that are close to the one your looking for.

Happy domain name hunting!
