Entrecard application server failed

The server that does the hard work hasn’t responded in time. This means we’re either working on it, or it is overloaded with requests. In either case, we sincerely apologize. Please try again in 10 minutes.

Of course you have! Entrecard is all about helping bloggers generate web traffic, but they could have planned on scalability much better. It has improved, but it still needs more work.

The bad side of Entrecard:

There are many things that I have noticed, and in no particular order they’re:

1. High bounce rates due to the “Drop and Run” concept
2. Poor click through rate from your advertised widget
3. Slow page loads
4. Time consuming to get credits
5. People not always reciprocating

Advertising your widget:

The facts are conclusive! No matter how many campaigns you have with Entrecard, you will not see an increase in web traffic. I average 400+ uniques per day. See the image below that proves my point.

Entrecard Traffic

The only good thing about Entrecard is their forums. You can request and post stumbles, announce contests, and sell credits, that’s it!

There are many good people leaving Entrecard. Check out the latest blog by Mike at bloggin-ads.

I will still stay in touch with all the great people I met at Entrecard, and participate in the forums.

yeah i noticed that a while ago .
and since that time i lowered the effort and the talk i’ve been spending in the forums .
i mean .. EC is good but it’s still not that good
sometimes i just see it’s traffic bandwidth eater more than the good type of visitors .

i’ve did 2 weeks ago . like you and mike from blogging-ads did . didn’t totally cut off the EC community but don’t give it as much attentions as i used to when i first started

As in anything that is new, it got lots of attention from us addicts. It was a source of meeting people, and learning for me. I still think it’s an informative place for many things for those of us starting out.

I did a month long campaign of 300 a day drops, it was maddening to do, but I chose to do that. Did the efforts pay off, if I got some free exposure, met some nice folks! Got a blog groupie.. (who has lacked in commenting recently - but I will forgive…) I think it was worth it for me.

I do drop still on a few of my favorites, and when I have free time to check out some of the lists that are popping up with the newer bloggers, you never know what your going to find!

I gotta hook up with you - have a tech ? too!

One big thing I forgot to mention on my post is that the click rates on advertising on other widgets are a lot lower now. I don’t know if it’s because of the image of a sexy girl or what, but it seems like even if I advertise on all of the top 5 blogs, I only get about 50-100 clicks each. The owners of those blogs mentioned before that the average clicks given out is about 200.

Yeah, I have to agree (and I think most people will). The traffic is not that big and the bounce rates are ridiculously high. I did however meet several people that I have become acquainted with and visit their blogs on a regular basis. So I guess for that I am thankful.

Yep, I agree with most of it. I am grateful to had the opportunity to meet everyone that I have on Entrecard and do as well enjoy the forums.

I am way too busy to do my drops anymore. I have semi retired as I posted on the forum. My time is more valuable.

I found it quite a learning experience and am thankful for the contacts I have had the pleasure to meet. Like I said before I do this because I want to not to become rich or see If I can get the best numbers, more power to those who do, guess that is why I am a fool.

All great comments, and I am not leaving entirely just limiting my effort with EC.

The friends I made were the best EC provided. Suzy, Pat, Jonathan, Fool, Daily Tech, Mike H, Ameo, Jenn, and Alfred, you people made it fun.

It’s time to explore new opportunities and I will always keep you all in mind. We all need to stay tight as this is the strongest marketing you can get.

    Love you all!

    Alfred,

That’s fine as that was not my biggest complaint. A drop rate is considered one page views and not time spent on site. I am sure everyone knows this.

That blog he wrote is based on 1/6th of the blog I wrote. I have multiple pages so this doesn’t apply to me.
